Health benefits of Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14)
This is a type of bacteria which are present in the intestines. Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14) is a member of the bacterial genus Lactobacillus and it has been found to play some vital roles in human health. Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14) can be found in some traditional fermented milk such as Kefir and presently it is widely used in probiotic foods and supplements. There are many types of research that have shown the different beneficial effects of different strains of L. acidophilus, verifying its use as a probiotic.
Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14) has been shown to have some health benefits including:
- Improves iron levels
- Improves folate and B12 levels
- In men with type 2 diabetes, it helps to maintain insulin sensitivity
- It decreases cholesterol
- Prevents cardiovascular disease
- Used for the gastrointestinal tract
Studies have shown that Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14 has been very effective in preventing Salmonella Typhimurium (cause of food poisoning) and Staphylococcus aureus (responsible for most Staphylococcal infections). Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14) can also be used in the treatment and prevention of vaginal infections, it can induce weight loss.
Health Benefits Bifidobacterium lactis (bl-04)
Bifidobacterium lactis (bl-04) is a gram-positive bacteria found in large intestines of mammals including humans. Bifidobacterium lactis (bl-04) has been used in various studies to determine the potential of strains to support the immune system, regulate and improve gastrointestinal function, and reduce the side effects of antibiotics.
Bifidobacterium lactis has been found to be one of the most versatile bacteria to the human body. Like other strains, these lactic acid bacteria can help fight lactose intolerance and strengthen the immune system. Beyond this, B. lactis can also help maintain a healthy level of cholesterol, reduce ulcerative colitis, and even fight against the effects of celiac disease.
Not only Bifidobacterium lactis can help digest lactose, but also contribute to total digestion of all sugars, fibers, and macronutrients. With these benefits, B. lactis can also help reduce the occurrence of diarrhea associated with antibiotics.
Health benefits of Lactobacillus plantarum (Lp-115)
Lactobacillus plantarum is a type of lactic acid bacteria. This is commonly found in many fermented plant products, such as sauerkraut, pickles, brined olives, and Korean kimchi. L. plantarum is an antioxidant and it has anticancer, anti-inflammatory antiobesity and anti-diabetic properties.
Here are some health benefits of Lactobacillus plantarum (Lp-115)
- plantarum produces vitamins B: the species of L. plantarum which are extracted from raw cow's milk can produce vitamin B2, riboflavin (B2) and (B9) folate.
- Plantarum increases calcium absorption: fermented milk containing L. plantarum showed a higher absorption of calcium retention.
- It reduces inflammatory response (produce Th2, reduce Th1 / Th2 levels)
- It reduces symptoms and facilitates the treatment of multiple trauma in injured patients
- It reduces the risk of kidney stones
- It reduces blood pressure
Health benefits of Lactobacillus paracasei (Lpc-37)
Lactobacillus paracasei is a gram-positive lactic acid bacterium; it is widely used in dairy products and probiotics. L. paracasei and its fermented products are effective immunomodulators, they improve allergies, prevent gastric mucosa lessons and inhibit the accumulation of fatty tissue. This is usually found in many human habitats such as our digestive tract and our mouths and sewage, silage and dairy products. It is the key to the digestive system function, the strengthening of the immune system, and even the level of energy. A study has revealed that the strain could be helpful in combating infections.
I love this probiotic. It works great. I will continue to purchase it!
